Branding
Why your academy's app should carry your name, not a vendor's
Open your students' phones and look at what your academy is called there. If they check the timetable through a booking platform's app, the answer is: it's called the platform. Your academy is a search result inside someone else's brand.
The home screen is real estate
A student opens their timetable app several times a week. Before every class, after every promotion, when a payment renews. That's dozens of brand impressions a month. The question is whose brand.
When the icon is your logo and the label under it says your academy's name, every one of those moments reinforces the thing you actually sell: belonging to your team. When it's a vendor's icon, you're renting your own members' attention back from a software company.
It also changes behaviour
People keep apps that feel personal. An app named after the place where they train, with their belt on the home screen and their coach's classes in the schedule, doesn't get deleted in the next storage cleanup. A generic booking app does.
What white-label should actually include
"White label" gets used loosely. For an academy app, it should mean at minimum:
- Your logo as the app icon, on the phone's home screen, not just inside the app.
- Your academy's name as the app name: the label under the icon, the browser tab, the invites.
- Your photos. The cover your students see when they open it.
- Self-service. You upload the logo and change the name yourself, without a support ticket.
One thing it should not require: an app store submission. Modern web apps install straight from the browser with full home-screen presence. Your branding ships in minutes, not in Apple review cycles, and every student gets updates instantly.
The test
Hand your phone to a prospective member and open your academy's app. If what they see is your name, your logo and your mats, the software is working for you. If they see a vendor's brand with your academy somewhere inside it, you're doing the vendor's marketing.
Every Ossly academy is white-labeled by default: your logo, your name, your cover photo, set up by you in minutes. 🤙🏻
